The LGBTQ movement fights for the rights of people who feel they belong to it. The abbreviation LGBTQ stands for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans and Queer. Accordingly, the abbreviation is made up of the first letters of the preferences in question (for the same sex, for example). The main identifying feature...\" class=\"encyclopedia\">LGBTQ<\/a> The community is so diverse and complex that it is difficult to identify details that are \"typical\". <a href=\"https:\/\/schwulekontakte.com\/en\/lexicon\/gay-2\/\" target=\"_self\" title=\"Men who love men are called &quot;gay&quot; or &quot;homosexual&quot;. Some people still understand gay as a swear word. Gay means being a man who likes men - and therefore the same sex. Unfortunately, many people still see the word as a swear word. This becomes particularly clear when straight people...\" class=\"encyclopedia\">gay<\/a>\" are.<\/p>\n<p>Nevertheless, it's fun to refute classic \"regulars' slogans\" and to prove to oneself that gays should by no means be pigeonholed. Unfortunately, however, it is also the media that ultimately ensures that the image of the \"<a href=\"https:\/\/schwulekontakte.com\/en\/lexicon\/pink\/\" target=\"_self\" title=\"The colour pink is always associated with gays, especially by many straight people. However, this is a classic prejudice. &quot;He&#039;s wearing pink?! He must be gay!&quot; is one of the classic prejudices that are always associated with the colour pink and gay men.\" class=\"encyclopedia\">Pink<\/a>-wearing\" gays is preserved.<\/p>\n<h2>Prejudice No. 1: Every gay man wants to be a woman!<\/h2>\n<p>No! Just because gay men are into men does not, of course, mean that they want to be a woman themselves. Of course there are people who were born in the wrong body and therefore undergo gender reassignment in the course of their lives.<\/p>\n<p>However, being classically gay means being into men and being a man yourself. Nothing more. On the contrary! Many gays love to present their masculine side and wouldn't dream of wanting to appear particularly feminine.<\/p>\n<h3>Prejudice No. 2: Gays are sick!<\/h3>\n<p>This is surely one of the most disgusting prejudices ever. No: gays are not sick! It is not abnormal, disgusting or even unnatural to be attracted to one's own sex. As long as both partners are of age and agree to the relationship, there is nothing to stop them from enjoying their own homosexuality with all its facets.<\/p>\n<p>Those who are gay do not need a doctor or a cure for their \"ailment\". Unfortunately, many people here still disagree.<\/p>\n<h4>Prejudice No. 3: Gays just haven't met the right woman yet!<\/h4>\n<p>Oh yes! Many gay people in the past were before their <a href=\"https:\/\/schwulekontakte.com\/en\/lexicon\/coming-out-2\/\" target=\"_self\" title=\"Coming out is the decision to admit one&#039;s homosexuality. Coming out is certainly one of the most significant terms in the scene. If you come out, you admit your inclination for the same sex. Many gays are afraid of this important step. After all, it is by no means always clear how the...\" class=\"encyclopedia\">Coming Out<\/a> even married to a woman. Those who are interested in men as men do not do so because of the fact that they would have been disappointed by the opposite sex.<\/p>\n<p>The corresponding feelings often develop slowly or have been suppressed over a long period of time. It is presumptuous and - to a certain extent - insulting to say that all that has been lacking so far is the right woman.<\/p>\n<h5>Prejudice No. 4: Gays want to convert straights!<\/h5>\n<p>Most gay people feel that the <a href=\"https:\/\/schwulekontakte.com\/en\/lexicon\/flirt\/\" target=\"_self\" title=\"Those who discover flirting for themselves show special interest in their counterpart. Many relationships start with a &quot;harmless flirt&quot;. Flirting can be the beginning of an exciting connection. Some people also flirt &quot;just for fun&quot;. As a rule, it is about signalling &quot;I like you!&quot; to the other person. Over the course of time,...\" class=\"encyclopedia\">Flirt<\/a> among gays well and have no intention of making a <a href=\"https:\/\/schwulekontakte.com\/en\/lexicon\/straight\/\" target=\"_self\" title=\"Hetero means to love women as a man or men as a woman Being hetero is - even in our modern age - still considered by many to be the only &quot;normal&quot; thing. Women and men who are straight are attracted to the opposite sex. They represent the classic clich\u00e9, which however - at the latest since the...\" class=\"encyclopedia\">Straight<\/a> to lure you to the \"other shore\". Of course, it is quite possible that a \"mistake\" happens now and then when flirting in everyday life. However, this does not usually happen on purpose.<\/p>\n<p>Accordingly, heterosexual men do not have to be afraid of gays. Many men who nevertheless express concerns here often turn out to be homophobic in a deeper conversation.<\/p>\n<h6>Prejudice No. 5: Gays are always top-styled!<\/h6>\n<p>Unfortunately not. Even though many gay men place an extremely high value on their appearance, this is a classic prejudice.<\/p>\n<p>The extent to which a person loves to groom and style himself depends on his individual character and not on his preference for the same sex. However, the opinion that especially men who like to groom themselves \"must be gay\" unfortunately persists (also among women).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Conclusion<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Nobody likes to deal with prejudices. Yet there are many people who seem to have found a target precisely in connection with homosexuals.<\/p>\n<p>What helps against this?
