Even if many horror film fans don't want to believe it: some horror films are based on true events and thus encourage people who believe in the supernatural. Want to see some examples? Have fun!<\/p>\n

Possessed by a Demon: The Exorcism of Emily Rose\"Possessed<\/h2>\n

This film tells of a Girls<\/em><\/strong>who seems to suffer from epileptic seizures. The religious family lets a Exorcism<\/em> <\/strong>perform. In court, science and faith face each other.<\/p>\n

The film was inspired by the German student Anneliese Michel<\/em><\/strong>who died as a result of malnutrition. This case is made special by the fact that before her death a total of 67 Exorcisms<\/em><\/strong> were exercised on her. These are known as the \"Exorcism of Klingenberg<\/em><\/strong>\"The court case is considered the basis for this film. The court case is considered the basis for this film.<\/p>\n

Demonologists on a Mission: The Visitation Series (\"Conjouring\")<\/h3>\n\"Demonologists

The Lorraine couple <\/strong><\/em>and Ed Warren<\/strong><\/em> are asked by a family to look at their house because they believe they are haunted by demons and ghosts. With the help of the couple, they finally succeed in driving them away.<\/p>\n

Background: The couple Warren<\/em> <\/strong>really existed and - just like in the film - were busy Mr. & Mrs. Warren<\/strong><\/em> with demons and their expulsion. For the film Lorraine Rita Warren<\/em><\/strong> as an advisor (Ed Warren<\/em><\/strong> died already in 2013). Among other things, the events from the famous Amityville<\/em> <\/strong>Horror House taken as a template.<\/p>\n

Deadly Game: \"Ver\u00f3nica- Playing with the Devil\"<\/h4>\n\"Deadly

1991: the 15-year-old Ver\u00f3nica<\/strong> <\/em>wants to contact her deceased father with her friends through a Ouija board. On the day of the solar eclipse, the teenagers fatally communicate with a demon, who then comes after them. Ver\u00f3nicas<\/strong> <\/em>life. Strange things happen on the night of her death.<\/p>\n

The film is based on one of the most mysterious deaths in Spanish criminal history. In August 1991, the then 18-year-old Estefania Gutierrez Lazaro<\/em><\/strong>. After a seance, she suffered from severe hallucinations and convulsions. She had been medically examined several times, but without any findings. Her parents also allegedly witnessed unexplained incidents.<\/p>\n

The detective in charge Jos\u00e9 Pedro Negri<\/em><\/strong> wrote in his police report of \"paranormal phenomena<\/em><\/strong>\" in the flat - for example, of a cross that suddenly turned over or of an intact poster that - as if by magic - was torn apart.<\/p>\n

With wine? \"The Silence of the Lambs\"<\/h5>\n\"With

Who doesn't know him? Hannibal Lecter<\/em><\/strong>, the cannibalistic psychologist and his profiler Starling<\/em> <\/strong>have written film history. Together they try to make it in \"The Silence of the Lambs<\/em><\/strong>\" Buffalo Bill<\/em> <\/strong>to hunt them down.<\/p>\n

As a template for Buffalo Bill<\/em><\/strong> served serial killers Ted Bundy <\/em><\/strong>and Ed Gein<\/em><\/strong>who had a penchant for skinning people. Also the relationship between Lecter<\/em> <\/strong>and Starling<\/em> <\/strong>is based on true events. For this purpose, the relationship between Ted Bundy<\/em><\/strong> and the profiler Robert Keppel<\/em><\/strong> used as a template.<\/p>\n

Supernatural Investigations: \"Deliver Us from Evil\"<\/h6>\n\"Supernatural

The New York Police Officer Ralph Sarchie<\/strong><\/em> is assigned to a series of inexplicable and unsavoury crimes, in the context of which he is to investigate. Together with an unconventional Priest<\/strong><\/em>who knows the procedure of classical exorcism, he wants to uncover the mysterious cases.<\/p>\n

The policemen Ralph Sarchie<\/em><\/strong> really exists and he investigated many cases where he believed \"Evil<\/strong><\/em>\" is at work. However, many elements of this film are pure fiction. For example, there was no possessed war veteran and also the strange events in Sarchies<\/strong> <\/em>family have never taken place in the form depicted. In contrast to the other works mentioned, the connection to reality is rather slight here, ... but nevertheless present.<\/p>\n
