STDs are all diseases that can be transmitted sexually.
The term "venereal diseases" covers all diseases that can be transmitted by sexual means. The "basic rule" here is that there is no relief without medical help. come will. STDs always need special treatment. The best-known diseases of this kind include HIV, gonorrhoea, syphilis, chlamydia and Hepatitis.
Especially people who thought in the past that these diseases could only be transmitted through sex have (sometimes painfully) been taught otherwise. Because: often, even petting is enough to transmit the viruses in question from one person to another.
Condoms, however, create an ideal condition for preventing the spread of STIs or significantly minimising the corresponding risk. However, people who change partners frequently tend to run a greater risk of contracting HIV and other STIs than people who are in a monogamous relationship.
But: an infection is of course nothing to be ashamed of. It is much more important to see a doctor as soon as possible to get medication. By the way, venereal diseases do not necessarily have to be caused by poor hygiene. There are often many factors that come together and can cause an outbreak or transmission.
Anyone who discovers symptoms of an STI but is unsure whether they have actually been infected should of course also have a brief check-up. This also applies if, after a few "adventurous" years of dating and flirting, you want to check whether you may have been infected with HIV. A simple blood test is sufficient to clarify the situation.
