BF stands for Best Friend and is not an exclusive gay term

Bestfriend

BF is an abbreviation for "best friend". Whether this is a gay friend or a straight It doesn't matter if it's your best friend or not. However, gays in particular always have a very special relationship with their BF. He (or she) is considered a confidant.

Within the Scene there are always discussions about whether it is "allowed" to have sex with a BF. Here, every relationship certainly decides individually. Sex with the BF can also be relaxing (and largely without obligations). However, it is important to keep in mind that it should really "only" be sex. Jealousy and possessiveness have no place in a classic BF relationship.

Many straight guys also love to get into BF relationships with gays. No wonder! After all, this opens up a - literally - colourful world for them.

The BF can help to face the challenges of everyday life. Many gays appreciate such support, especially with regard to upcoming coming outs. Here it can be extremely reassuring to be able to rely on a confidant. Far away from sex, Flirt and Co. is about living a friendship ideally on a very special level and over many, many years.

By the way: BF's are sometimes found purely by chance. Sometimes they even arise in Gaychatswhen both realise that it is not enough for the great love, but they like each other very much..
