Don't feel like doing sports? This is how even couch potatoes manage to get over themselves.

Not in the mood for sports 5 proven tips for sports slackers

As tempting as the famous "beach body" may be: it is often difficult to overcome the famous inner weakness and get up the courage to complete a workout session. Yet exercise not only has a positive effect on the body, but also on the soul.

If these two aspects still don't convince you, however, there are other tips that might make fitness and co. a little more attractive.

Basically, personal preferences can also play a decisive role here. Or in other words: if you think you're an absolute couch potato, maybe you just haven't discovered the right sport for you yet? In this case, it can be worthwhile to look around for trends as well as classics.

Tip no. 1: exercise together!

Those who find it difficult to get up the courage to exercise can team up with friends (or their sweetheart). Ideally, everyone is at the same level of fitness and can push each other to be the best they can be.

Whether in connection with endurance or strength sports: many workouts become a real happening!

Tip no. 2: realistic goals

The goals set in connection with sporting activities should of course be realistic. Otherwise frustration quickly sets in broad. But: those who set themselves a goal usually stay on the ball longer!

Fans of statistics and the like are well advised to record their successes in writing. For example, it is particularly fun to look back on one's own individual path to success... And to be proud of oneself.

Tip No. 3: Reward!

Sport is not only fun, but can of course also be very strenuous. How about a reward? Even with the prospect of the ultimate beach body, chastising yourself is no fun in the long run.

It is up to each individual to decide whether to go for the famous "cheat day" or just an ice cream sundae after a jog. One thing is certain: Those who make an effort should also be rewarded.

Tip no. 4: Before and after pictures

Especially when an amateur athlete has set himself the goal of losing a large amount of weight, it makes sense to document his own path with pictures. Those who think about giving up at some point usually only have to look at the photos of past times to realise how proud they can be of themselves.

Almost nothing has a more motivating effect on past sporting efforts than success.

Tip no. 5: Acknowledge compliments

Unfortunately, many people nowadays have problems accepting a compliment. Why is that? If you have lost weight or built up muscles and now look healthier, you should be able to take credit for it.

Therefore, it can help to simply respond to the next "You look good!" with a "Thank you!" and not to hide your own light under a bushel. Being pleased with yourself does not mean appearing arrogant! Rather, it is a special demonstration of self-love and the realisation that past sporting activities are paying off.
